In 1945 William J. Deeks, an English immigrant and former Reichhold Chemicals sales representative, joined forces with Kent Sprinkle to form a sales agency. The newly founded company located in Cincinnati, Ohio, was known as Deeks & Sprinkle. In 1946, Richard Fromant, a relative of William J. Deeks, was hired to open an office in Atlanta, Georgia. After the death of Mr. Sprinkle in 1950, the company was named Deeks & Company.

With both locations of Deeks & Company prospering, William Deeks decided to form two separate organizations; Deeks & Company in Ohio and Deeks & Company, Inc., in Georgia. In 1958, the second southern distribution center was opened in High Point, North Carolina. As the success of the southeastern corporation was apparent, William J. Deeks sold the Ohio operation to a group of employees and while retaining control of the Atlanta operation.

After the death of William J. Deeks in 1980, his son Donald Deeks continued the tradition of success and growth within the organization. Additional sales offices were established in Nashville, Tennessee, as well as Birmingham, Alabama, to complement the existing office in High Point and the corporate headquarters in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Deeks & Company, Inc., continued to expand in 1992 with the purchase of Raw Material Supply in Tampa, Florida. This new entity was given the name of Deeks & Company of Florida, Inc.

Currently under the direction of Don's daughter, Donna Boldt, the company has continued to grow and prosper. Presently the company has five locations in the Southeast, six sales representatives, and five customer service representatives and is proud to be an accredited member of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) as well as active members of local and national trade associations serving the paint, coatings, and ink industries.
